.22Rimfire Rifle Match

The Match course of fire: 50 rounds + sighters required to fire match.
There will be 10 rounds in each of the 5 stages of fire.
A tie may require more rounds to be fired.
COMPETITOR PROVIDES OWN AMMUNITION.
DISTANCE: 50 yds
TARGET: Announced and provided at match.
RIFLE: Any 22 rimfire rifle using shorts, longs, or long rifle cartridge in a safe operating condition. Any sights (iron or scoped) will be allowed.
EQUIPMENT: Eye and Ear protection REQUIRED. Shooting jackets, gloves and ground mat allowed. Spotting scopes are permitted but must not interfere with adjacent shooters. Leather or web slings are permitted and maybe used in all positions. Approved CMP/NRA open bolt indicators (OBI) are required to be used at all times except during the preparation period and firing. OBIs available at range for your use.
SAFETY RULES: All rifles brought to firing line must be empty with action open. No ammo will be loaded until the Match Director so orders. Rifles must be kept empty and actions open between the stages of fire. All firearms on the firing line must use an Open Bolt Indicator (OBI) when not firing. Magazines will be removed or tube magazines extended until command to load is given. Failure may cause the disqualification of shooter.
AMMUNITION: Supplied by the competitor. Any commercial or military equivalent .22 rimfire ammunition which is safe for the intended rifle may be used.
NO tracers or 22 WRF or 22 magnum ammo is allowed.
COACHING: Coaching is permitted.
MALFUNCTIONS: Notify the Match Director immediately if a rifle or ammunition malfunctions during the match, raise hand until acknowledged by Match Director, keep muzzle down range until Match Director provides direction to fix problem.
SCORING:
- Shooter scores and hangs own target between stages.
- Score sheet will be provided.
- A shot touching the line between the scoring divisions of the target, the shot will be credited with the higher value.
- A shot on the wrong target will be counted as a miss.
- A shot fired after time period has elapsed; the highest point on that target will be deducted.
- Targets with more than 10 shots per stage, looses high point hits.
- Match Director calls firing line commands and runs time
- Whining: None acknowledged
- Ties settled by X ring count or shoot-off
- Alibis: None except for range condition that effects all shooters.
AWARDS: Certificate of Marksmanship suitable for framing: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for overall match.
COURSE OF FIRE
Match: 500 points
STAGE 1. Bench Slow Fire, 10 rounds in 5 minutes from the bench. You may use your elbows for support – No bench rest stands or sandbags allowed.
STAGE 2. Sitting Slow Fire, 10 rounds in 5 minutes from the sitting position on forward edge of the concrete floor with feet placed on the dirt. No resting or propping on benches or posts allowed.
STAGE 3. Standing Slow Fire, 10 rounds in 5 minutes from the standing position on the concrete floor. No resting or propping on benches or posts allowed.
STAGE 4. Sitting Timed Fire, 10 rounds in 2 stages of 5 shots in 30 seconds from the sitting position on forward edge of the concrete floor with feet placed on the dirt. No resting or propping on benches or posts allowed
STAGE 5. Open Timed Fire, 10 rounds in 5 minutes from any position deemed safe by the Match Director. No resting or propping on benches or posts allowed
After each stage is completed, Match Director will have shooters make their rifles safe with OBI in place.
Match Director will give command for shooters to go down range to first score and replace target.
After last stage the shooter will remove their target and return to firing line to remove equipment.
Next relay will then go down range to post their targets
Next relay will bring equipment to firing line, bolts open, OBI in place.
Shooters hand in score sheets to registration table.
In case of a tie: The total number of X’s will be used to break ties. If those are equal then a shoot-off will be held for those involved.
TIE BREAKER STAGE. Standing Timed Fire, 3 rounds in 3 minutes from the standing position on the dirt in front of the concrete area. No resting or propping on benches or posts allowed.
Scores announced and Marksmanship Certificates awarded after final scores are posted and Firing Line secured by Match Director.
